After you invest your time and your creative design skills in setting up a lush garden to surround and complement your home, it may only take a few missed watering sessions for crackly brown edges to appear on once healthy flowers and bushes.  Life gets busy, but your haven can still stay nourished with very little effort and inconvenience from you.  Set up a sprinkler system to keep your plants and yard happy and healthy and your home beautiful.

Professional Installation

There are a few options available if you decide a sprinkler system is right for you. The first is a system installed by a professional that involves underground pipes, times and sophisticated timing and filtering systems. This is the most expensive option but the best choice if you have a lot of landscaping with varying watering needs. These systems can be built to recycle gray water and can include a number of other bells and whistles that will help you save some money while keeping your yard looking great. Your real estate agent can recommend a good service technician that can get you started.

DIY Piped Systems

If you prefer more of a DIY solution, there are a few options that you can install yourself. The first is a piped system, similar to those installed by professional lawn care companies. The price point for these is considerably less than a professional installation but you make up for the cost in labor and time. For these systems. You'll need to dig trenches to accommodate the piping. Depending on your locale, this may involve navigating tree roots and rocks hidden under your existing landscaping. If you're up to the task, the PVC pipes and sprinkler heads you'll need can be found at your local home improvement store.

In-Ground Sprinklers

Finally, if you'd prefer not to deal with trenches and buried pipes, you do have another option that is more convenient than a traditional sprinkler that needs to be moved around your yard. If this sounds like a good option for you, look for an in-ground sprinkler like this one. Units like this need just a small hole in your yard and a battery-powered faucet timer that connects to your hose. The components together create an automated system that allows you to schedule watering time early in the morning or late at night

Regardless of the option you choose, setting up a lawn irrigation system can take some time, but once installed, you will be grateful for the convenience of effortless lawn maintenance.  Built-in tools for a healthy lawn add value to your home as well as letting you enjoy your free time in lush green surroundings.
